T-Shirt Flat OTA Cover

These covers are not a great leap forward in the technology of capturing flats for CCD imaging, however, having struggled with a T-shirt to get it to stay on the OTA, I know how much easier this method is.

Shown below are models that fit from a Meade 12" OTA up to a 16" OTA, an SV90T as well as a cover for an RC Scope with hole for the servo (shown on an SCT). These covers are fully machine washable. They are constructed with two layers of heavy weight cotton, with the weave 90 degrees offset from each other and made per order.

T-Shirt Flat Covers do not have to be stretched taught. When imaging a flat, the focus is set at the same position used when taking light frames (infinity), thus making anything at the front end of the OTA so far out of focus as to be invisible, ie: the secondary of a Cassagrain type OTA does not image. Our covers are made to fit snug to facilitate installation. They can be stretched taught, if you wish, with the addition of a large rubber band or bungee.
